Designer Marie Olesen offers all kinds of dressmaking alterations and a fantastic tailoring service.
Trained in Denmark, designer Marie Olesen specialised in design and tailoring for women and children. Marie's tailoring skills are founded on pattern making in all designs, most notably Vintage designs which brings out the best aspects of all fabrics. Marie is highly experienced in working in all fabrics particularly silk, lace, tweed, satin and even leather.
Marie can create the perfect fit to your favourite prom dress, suit or children's outfit and if you have a party or special occasion where you need to stand out from the crowd, Marie can take your special outfit and give it the "WOW" factor.
In addition to dressmaking and tailoring Marie also has a highly affordable design service. Following an initial meeting to discuss your ideas, fabric options and any specific needs Marie will take up to 25 measurements to ensure you of a perfect fit. A basic fitting meeting will then be arranged at which point Marie will ensure you are happy with all fine detail before completion. Marie Olesen has made me a beautiful outfit with fabric from Linton Tweeds in Carlisle and silk lining from another British company. It consists of a fitted dress (short sleeves and skirt), together with a lovely jacket. The whole experience from design choosing, first fitting and then subsequent finish was terrific. Marie made it all so quickly and it fits beautifully. I can thoroughly recommend her dressmaking skills and patience.
