If you want to do something positive for the world, there's no easier way than to shop here. It's great for staples like tea, coffee, jam, rice, chocolate etc. and has a wonderful selection of jewellery, cards, gifts and clothes. Really friendly service too.

The World Shop is fabulous for anything from fair trade honey and teas bags to presents for family and friends. Great finds include a sweet little bag for my aunt, earrings and necklaces as stocking fillers, a stripy purse that's just right for my mp3 player and more chocolate than I should really admit to! The staff are always really friendly and helpful too.

This shop is right in the centre of carlisle but doesn't get the traffic it deserves as it is a little hidden away to those who are not looking about with curioisty... Look for it and step in - this shop is definitely worth a visit. There is an amazingly huge range of fairtrade goods tucked into this shop with a positive atmosphere that appears small but unfolds like mary poppins' bag! Whether you are looking for unusal and handmade gifts, clothes, tea, coffeee, chocolate or - like me - just going to stock up on an amazing assortment of natural incense, there must be something in here of interest to anyone who enjoys and appreciates quality items that have been crafted with care.
