Howletts Wild Animal Park, Canterbury, together with the Aspinall Foundation is devoted to the conservation of endangered wildlife species and returning them to protected areas in the wild. For example, the Aspinall Foundation manages two gorilla rescue and rehabilitation projects in the central African countries of Gabon and Congo where they have successfully reintroduced over 50 gorillas back into the wild.
