Cannock Council urges public to report festive fly tippers

Cannock Chase Council has urged people in the District to keep an eye out for flytipping over the festive period – with a £100 reward payable if any information leads to a successful prosecution.

With household items like new sofas and televisions often bought for Christmas, the potential for flytipping increases. There is also a lot more waste created over the festive period, including cardboard packaging and wrapping paper.

Residents who see someone tipping rubbish are asked to make a note of the time and date, location, description of waste tipped, vehicle registration number and, if possible, a description of the flytippers themselves.

These details can be passed on to Cannock Chase Council as soon as possible on 01543 462621. An online form can also be completed on the Council’s website at www.cannockchasedc.gov.uk

The Council is also urging residents to use the county council’s recycling centres over the festive period, as well as the new blue wheelie bins for dry recyclables.
