We always say that you can't put a value on a life saved but when it comes down to it, it currently costs around £750,000 each year for local charity, Magpas to maintain the critical service it has been providing for over 40 years.
With a number of accolades and awards for their work and services around Cambridge and East Anglia, keeping this life-saving service going is vital.
Since 1971, when GP's called to accidents and emergencies arrived in their own cars, to the 24/7 Helimedix team now covering East Anglia, the essential service Magpas provides has been sustained by public donations. However, to maintain this level of safety and response, the charity needs the regular support of local individuals and businesses.
All funds raised go towards:
The emergency medical team, Helimedix, their equipment and running costs
Providing a rapid response vehicle, its equipment and maintenance
Specialised training for doctors and research into traumatic injury
