Looking for the right sort of help when you need it can be very difficult. For some of us, even the idea of needing a counsellor can make us feel like we have ‘failed’ or are ‘weak’. However, choosing to work on your life issues with a counsellor can be an appropriate and positive way of dealing with areas that are troubling for both men and women of all ages.
I have been interested in psychological ways of working with people since the mid-1990s, and have qualifications in developmental psychology and counselling.
My counselling practice in Cambridge, has a strong Jungian influence and, as such, people come to work with me not only on troubling issues such as abusive experiences, eating disorders and low self-esteem, but also, through counselling attempt to fulfil and develop as a person.
Areas of counselling that I am used to working with include:
- depression
- anxiety
- abusive experiences
- low self-esteem
- low self-confidence
- eating disorders (male and female)
- relationship difficulties
- difficulties with sexuality
- bereavement counselling
- feelings of meaninglessness
- feelings of disappointment
- feelings of generalised unhappiness
- workplace difficulties.
My standard counselling fee for ongoing consultations is £42 per session for individuals, and £60 per session for couples.
I hope the above information has been useful. To arrange an initial confidential conversation one to one, please contact me by email or telephone.
Qualifications
I have advanced and postgraduate diplomas in counselling from the University of Cambridge. I have also studied and gained a degree-level qualification in developmental psychology with the Open University. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling – MBACP (Accred) and a UKRC registered independent counsellor.
