Withdrawal of new Tesco store application in Buxton

Tesco have withdrawn its application to build a new store in Buxton, Derbyshire.

The development of the new 6,601 square metre supermarket with underground car park was to be built on a site due to be vacated by a mineral bottling plant in 2012.

Following opposition by Vision Buxton, a group of local businesses and community groups, due to the impact on local traders and also traffic congestion in Buxton, Tesco decided to withdraw the current application to reflect on the comments.
