Thanks to the generosity of local people and a large legacy the £5 million target is well on its way to being achieved.
Building is expected to be completed in December 2012. The Hospice will then spend the following months equipping and commissioning the premises with the aim of being open by early Spring 2013.
The Hospice has launched a Together We Can Make it Happen fund asking the people of Bury to contribute a final £100,000 towards the monies needed. This fund will pay for some final elements of the finishing and the actual move of patients, staff and services to the new Hospice on Rochdale Old Road, Bury.

“We are now very close to being able to deliver our promise to the people of Bury, to provide a very special place to offer compassionate palliative and end of life care to all those who need it. This is our final ask to the people of Bury to help us in the opening of our new Hospice. Please help us if you can!”
Hospice staff have worked with Fluid Creative in Bury to come up with a “Journey map” from the existing Hospice at Dumers Lane, Radcliffe to the new Hospice at Rochdale Old Road, Bury. To raise the £100,000 target, each metre of that journey will cost £15. The people of Bury are being asked to help in this final ask to enable to opening of the new Hospice by donating in ‘metres’.
