Speed Kills Your Fuel Ecomony

You've heard the saying Speed Kills, well guess what Speed also kills your fuel economy !!!!!!!!

Did you know that most cars (except most high performance cars) get the best fuel economy at between 50 and 60 mph? Anything over this and you can start to watch those £££££££s start to fall out of your exhaust as your money goes up in smoke.

Motorway Driving

Did you know, once you get to the legal speed limit (70mph) your fuel efficiency has dropped by around 17%, and for those speed freaks who like to go around 80mph you are now using almost 30% more diesel or petrol than you actually need.

Company Car Driver example !
Lets turn that into pounds in your pocket. A driver who spends the bulk of his time on the motorway (80 mph) say covering around 1000 miles per week at a cost of around £130 could save around £30 per week on fuel by reducing his speed marginally, multiply that by 48 (weeks working pa) and you have annual fuel savings of just under £1500 !!!!!! and thats just one driver.

Food for thought for any business that have many drivers !!!!!!

I like the simple things in life and really get annoyed when people make simple tasks look complicated. Hopefully this ethos is shown in our business...
