Background

Luci Roper founded Luci Living Design in 2007. Originally, a home based venture, Luci built up contacts and began specialising in commercial interior design. As a result of the huge demand for her expertise, in 2009 she set up the residential interiors service and further to this an online store that has been going for 12 months.
She has created designs for a large range of bar, restaurant and hotel projects including Red Hall Hotel which was opened by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2009.

Her eye for detail, flair and imagination has made her hot property within the interior design field and she has now has opened the doors to a new and exciting interior design store and showroom in Prestwich.

The new store will be holding a launch and preview afternoon on Sunday 22 May 2011 from 1pm – 5pm. Visitors will be treated to canapés and a glass of fizz whilst they browse and they will have the opportunity to meet and chat with Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan from Coronation Street) who will be carrying out the official opening.

What does the shop do?

“All aspects of interior design and decor including furniture, accessories, gifts, art, wallpaper, soft furnishings, upholstery, curtains and blinds in traditional, classic and contemporary styles. Luci Living Design sources an extensive range of products worldwide ensuring something to suit all tastes and requirements.

Luci is feels that independent stores such as hers have an important role in rejuvenating areas such as Prestwich, encouraging people to shop local, support local businesses and hopes to create employment opportunities.

She describes her company as 'recession busting' saying that the ranges she specialises in start from low budget products costing just a few pounds to high end furnishings. Luci is also due to launch her own bespoke furniture range shortly consisting of one-off designs, hand painted furniture and statement chairs aptly named “Luci Loves ….” Customers will be able to request furniture to be designed and manufactured to meet their specific requirements.

"An area of shop will be available to hire for events, meetings and business networking, as well as hosting courses running in the evenings and at weekends offering customers the chance to participate in creative courses and other activities such as wine tasting, informative talks, book readings etc to make it a fully interactive experience for people."

Future

"Once the new store in Prestwich has been established, Luci plans to expand the brand and open other stores in the future. The store has been open just a week but she says the response has been fantastic to date with lots of new customers on the books. She is enthusiastic about her new venture and is eager to make her mark in North Manchester"

Verdict

"The shop and showroom is well worth a look, as it is located in a prime position on Bury New Road. It has all the features of a conventional interior design store and also encourages people of all levels and expertise to express their creativity by taking part in courses and utilise the venue for networking. Luci's enthusiasm and excitement for the new store is infectious and her talent for interior designing is without a doubt a cut above the rest"
