BIG in Mental Health, The Bury-based Mental Health Charity, provide weekly Recovery Group sessions to assist individuals with their mental health recovery.

Often Guest speakers discuss interesting topics that benefit the group. Most recently, PHD Student and Highly Specialist Psychologist, Karin Bacha explored the topic, searching for understanding.

The importance of understanding a diagnosis was discussed, along with developing coping strategies and empowering oneself in overcoming stigma, assisted the attendees and helped share knowledge. Karin also covered the different types of therapies that are available, which gave the service user a spectrum of understanding and choice in developing their recovery.

BIG in RECOVERY  is for adults who consider themselves to have a mental health condition.

We meet every Tuesday evening at 6.15pm  at the Bury United Reformed Church, Parsons Lane, Bury.

We provide a welcoming, safe environment where we enjoy sharing our experiences, supporting one another and providing a successful journey of recovery.

At BIG you have the opportunity to meet new people and make friends, gaining peer support and providing support to others.

The group enables you to learn about mental health, improving your knowledge and understanding.
