A Taste of Things to Come!

What are you up to this Saturday?
Well, for those of you that know the Ramsbottom area well enough you'll see an old flame re lit this weekend!
The Eagle and Child on Whalley Road Shuttleworth will be alive and kicking again on Saturday when it is totally re launched with a fun and enjoyable open day for you to literally get a feel for the taste of things to come.

The launch will begin at 12pm and there will be various activity going on throughout the day until 5pm when the good old traditional pub values will be restored.
For the entertainment of the little ones there will be an artist running sculpture workshops and at 2pm the fabulous Thwaites Shire Horses will grace The Eagle and Child with their towering presence and beauty.
Visitors will also be able to sample the newly launched menu, served canape style giving you a snippet of what to expect from the following Wednesday (12th October) when this traditional "Lancashire Pub Grub" venue opens it's doors to the public! Cask ales will also play a big part with guest ales being a regular feature!

The launch on Saturday is open for any of you to attend and the team would love to see as many new faces as possible and to come and find out more join in the fun.

The Eagle and Child is now owned and managed by Glenn Duckett who comes from a catering background but has also has experience in regeneration projects, from youth work and education to horticulture and environmental work.
As well as opening the business as a traditional style pub grub venue he is also keen on employing and training young people who need extra support.

The Eagle & Child is working in partnership with Employment and Training Pennines and NACRO to employ and train young people, helping them to identify with the food sector. By growing, cooking and serving food these young people will gain important skills in horticulture, hospitality and catering.

Using locally sourced food is also part of the big plan and Glen is set to work with Incredible Edible Ramsbottom in an exciting new education project, which will see the beer garden completely transformed.
