Quite possibly the worst meal I've ever had. Hour and a half wait, nine of us, but only us in pub. Steak blue on a sandwich, dips missing, salmon salad had no salad, hair in the olives, bread bun for soup stuck to serviette. Spicy tomato soup tasted more like bitter tomato! No apology for wait until after we had complained about the food, which we had to eat as we were starving after we had been to lay my grandad to rest in the church next door and waited so long for it to arrive. We had checked earlier in the day that they were ok with us going in and they had said this was fine. Sorry will not ever be visiting again.
Victoria Hotel has been highly recommended as one of Bury's premier public houses, bars and inns, serving an excellent selection of drinks as well as a great range of home cooked food.

After reading such positive reviews for the food at this pub our party of 4 decided to lunch here today. We meet regularly for pub lunches and have had some lovely meals in the pubs around Bury. How we wish we had left this pub when we entered it - the carpets hadn't been vacuumed, there were crumbs on the tables (which I assume was from the previous day because there was no-one else in the pub!). However, we decided to stay and ordered our meals. When they arrived we couldn't believe how terrible they were!! The cheese and onion pie had a covering which was trying to excuse itself for pastry (looked like a slice of wet lasagne), the beef in the steak and potato pies was just inedible dried out cubes and the venison sausage more like a springboard! I can honestly say that this was the worst pub meal we have ever had!!
