What is the Creative Living Centre?
The Creative Living Centre in Prestwich, Bury is a charitable organisation which was developed as a result of mental health care service users requesting a wider choice of responses to their distress. The Creative Living Centre in Bury's philosophy is to value and respect the individuality of each person.
We are proud achievers of Salford CVS (Council for Voluntary Services) Toward Excellence Award for Diversity in Volunteering, being 1 of only 5 in Greater Manchester.

The Creative Living Centre, Bury supports people through an extensive range of activities:
Creative arts activities - including water colour classes and textiles.
Health and wellbeing groups.
Gardening group: An opportunity to work in our gardens, growing seasonal vegetables in our organic vegetable patch from sowing the seeds, maintaining the patch and then using the vegetables in our on site cafe!
Walking group: Local healthy and interesting walks lasting approximately 1 hour.
Wandering Minds: Our very own creative writing group.
Tai Chi and Yoga.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills classes.
Learn to Heal Yourself class: a class featuring gentle movement.
Armchair yoga.
Self Help group - talking therapeutic group.
Access to members computer and the internet.
Saturday Evening Group: open from 6.30pm - 9.30pm with art, music, drama focus and light refreshments.
Health, care and wellbeing groups.

The Creative Living Centre, Bury uses complementary therapies in their care as an effective way of improving mental and physical health. They stimulate our body's natural healing abilities and help our various vital systems to function more towards their natural best.
People have found this sort of care to be effective when other forms of treatment have had either none or very limited success. Because they stimulate natural healing, people do not experience side effects that they would through medication. The Creative Living Centre, Bury values complementary therapies so highly we want them to be available to anyone who chooses them. All of our therapists are fully qualified to care for you.

It is always best to ring the centre to discuss our membership process and the possibility of visiting the centre. We will then show you around, give you information and talk to you about what care and support the centre can offer you.
The Centre opens from 10a.m until 4p.m on Mondays/Tuesdays and Fridays and Saturday evenings from 6.30p.m until 9.30p.m
On Wednesdays the centre is open for therapy appointments only.
Coffee and tea are always available.

At The Creative Living Centre, Prestwich, Bury we seek to create a sense and experience of integration within the individual, between individuals and within the community of members, volunteers, staff, therapists and trustees.
The centre is now taking on new members who fit the criteria of suffering/recovering mental emotional distress with attendance starting as early as April.
