It is now law that ALL properties MUST have an Energy Performance Certificate available "On Construction, Sale or Rent" The EPC must be made available at the start of the sales process in order to show prospective buyers or tenants the Energy Efficiency of the building.
An Energy Performance Certificate is a detailed assessment of the energy efficiency of the property. It takes into account factors such as the construction type, size and age of the property along with the water, heating and lighting systems and an overall account of thermal insulation levels. When completed the information is used to provide a report detailing the Energy Efficiency Rating.
