I run a small business with 11 staff. I have had HR situations on the past that I have found difficult to deal with and have at times just brushed over them. Niel at People Matters has set up an entire system that covers everything from Staff Handbooks to Holiday forms and is also tailor made to fit my business. I now feel more secure and in control of dealing with the problems that arise from employing staff. This is from a legal and professional point of view. It is also to the benefit of my staff as training needs will be met too. I now run my 'small' business like a 'big' business and have People Matters to contact with any concerns and issues that may arise in the future.

Niel Cope, from People Matters Ltd has provided my businesses with HR advice and support since 2010. Niel is very professional, friendly and has a hands on approach. Niel works very much in partnership and we consider him part of our Management Team.

Niel offers a real personal service and goes out of his way to help, whether it is facilitating funding to make leadership development more affordable, sourcing apprentices or giving me employment law or practical management advice he is always pragmatic, thorough and gives 100%. People Matters have had to support me through disciplinary, appeals, grievances and redundancies as well as the more positive side of managing people. Niel understands our issues and has always been there on the phone and in person to take away the anxiety, by sharing his knowledge and calming us down in a crisis!

I have fully outsourced my HR support to People Matters Ltd and Niel has put together all my recruiting documentation, contracts and job descriptions. He has really supported us as the business grew and created a bespoke induction package and detailed staff handbook, so I have clear policies and my team know what standards are expected.

To help me improve performance and the skills of our managers, he has delivered training around recruitment, performance management, disciplinary and grievance in an easy to understand format, in his usual personal style.

Niel also put together a Health and Safety policy and procedure along with all my risk assessments and trained me in their use so that I am fully compliant with any legal requirements.

I recently had the good fortune to be part of a training day at the Head Offices of the company for which I work.

The training day on HR Management was delivered by Niel Cope, of People Matters Ltd, and I have to say the day was extremely enjoyable.

As a Manager I understand the necessity for good, clear communication, with concise information being given, and this is exactly how Niel delivered to us all on that day.

The day was well structured, very hands on, with a lot of relevant examples for our team to work on, and with Niel giving us the opportunity to ask relevant questions as we went through each individual section.

Niel possesses a very valuable asset and that is the way in which he is able to communicate with people. He is interesting and very knowledgeable and comfortable to be around.

I not only thoroughly enjoyed what I thought was an excellent day, but also learnt things I had been unaware of.
