INFRALOGICS Limited – Cost-effective Quality Assurance without cutting corners

Quality Assurance

Whether you are -

• New to Quality Systems, or starting from a blank sheet of paper
• Already set up but in need of some guidance or support
• Fully certified but short of time and resource to keep things going, or even
• Stuck in a rut of long-established, outdated procedures but don't know where to start climbing out

INFRALOGICS will work with you, at the right level, on the right terms, to achieve your objectives.

Stephen Singer - Director

Director and Principal Consultant Stephen M Singer has spent over 20 years working with company procedures, manuals and documentation of all sorts, across a wide variety of industries.

Once almost a lawyer (well, completing a law degree), his career included over 15 years in customer-focused operational and management roles in the catering and tourism industries before setting up his first business in 1995.

His engagement with formal Quality Management Systems coincided with the major change to the ISO 9000 family of Standards at the turn of the millennium, and has been one of the main areas of INFRALOGICS' work ever since.

Now with the increasing compatibility of Standards addressing different aspects of management systems (such as environmental and health & safety), and with the development of improved web-and IT-based methods for managing information, INFRALOGICS is again helping clients to understand and get the most benefit from significant changes in opportunities for the implementation of these systems.

Stephen is an IRCA Certified Lead Auditor of Quality Management Systems, an Associate of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and a member of the CQI's Standards Development Group (speaking for the interests of smaller businesses). A Member of the Institute of Business Consultancy, he has been an accredited supplier for successive government schemes and is currently on the consultancy providers list for Greater Manchester Chamber to deliver services including ISO 9000 projects.

Some of the things we do:

We always -

• Meet our prospective clients face to face, to discuss any potential collaboration. Without commitment, and free of charge.
• Provide them with a fully documented and costed Proposal before we start any work
• Keep them informed of whatever we are doing
• Provide back-up support and "helpline" availability for any client queries - even after we have finished the formal part of a project.

Depending on the needs established through our meetings, and the scope and extent of agreed work, some of the specifics we deliver include -

• Start-to-finish ISO 9001 Quality Management System implementations, through to formal certification by independent third-party assessment bodies
• Help with Manuals, Policies, Procedures and all forms of documentation - including keeping them to the right level ("more" isn't necessarily "better!")
• Ongoing support and maintenance of Quality Management Systems once they have been certified - e.g. with Internal Auditing, co-ordination of Management Reviews and general upkeep and reporting back on how the system is working
• Induction and training on quality issues and the Quality System for personnel - including Internal Auditor training
• Implementation of, or integration with, other Management Systems e.g. Environmental or Health & Safety Management Systems
• Support with adopting technological tools (such as the online integrated PROMIS® system) to streamline and integrate management systems.

Some of the things we don't do:

• Quote for any work before both parties have a clear understanding of what is needed
• Blind our clients with jargon (or disguise work that they could do for themselves)
• Work with non-UKAS accredited certification bodies (if you aren't sure what this means - please ask us!)
• Sell specific software or any other tools on a commission basis.

Some of the things we would like to do:

•Spend more of our time working with North-West businesses (and less time on trains and motorways!)
•Improve the quality of many "Quality Systems" and help more people to get more out of them
•Blow the myths that many people still believe about ISO 9000, and help to bring it in to the 21st century
•Talk to you about how we can help you to add quality to your business.

Management Consultancy

INFRALOGICS is a specialist consultancy in organisational processes.

We work in close collaboration with our clients to rationalise and enhance their business processes through effective systems, management and documentation.

We help businesses and organisations to realise value and benefit through their systems, and to eliminate practices and documentation which clutter efficiency and add no value.

His particular focus on streamlining business processes coincided with the major change to the ISO 9000 family of Quality Management Systems Standards at the turn of the millennium. A key area of INFRALOGICS' work in the past 10 years has been using the "process approach" promoted by those Standards to enhance the quality of organisational systems - whether certified or not.

Stephen is a Member of the Institute of Business Consultancy and Associate of the Chartered Quality Institute. He has been an accredited supplier for successive government schemes and is currently on the consultancy providers list for Greater Manchester Chamber to deliver services including ISO 9000 projects.

What's your pain?

INFRALOGICS works with all types and sizes of organisations which recognise a need for -

• Clearer or better-defined processes, procedures or management systems (in some or all areas)
• Better understanding and implementation of the systems which do exist (the POPNOW syndrome - Plenty Of Procedures, No OWnership!)
• Updating or adaptation of systems and practices because, for example, the business has changed, new processes have developed, or new tools or methods are now available - including the use of IT to replace old-fashioned paper-based systems and forms
• A reality check or audit on how things are really working (as opposed to how the theory says they are working!)
• Induction, training or workshop sessions to put across key messages, maintain awareness of core policies and procedures or generate improvement proposals that meet real-life needs and pressures.

These are just some of the situations which have led organizations to talk to us.

The solutions can be as variable as the needs and the clients - ranging from a half-day Induction course or Process Mapping session, to the drafting and implementation of complete new systems, Manuals or online management tools (such as the PROMIS® online integrated management tool).

Some of the things we don't do, by the way, include -

• Starting any substantive work before a fully-defined and costed Proposal has been agreed
• Blinding our clients with jargon (or quoting for excessive work that they could do for themselves)
• Selling specific software or any other tools on a commission basis
• Tying clients into ongoing support on the basis that only we can understand the systems!

What's the gain?

We focus on developing practical systems and solutions which -

• Reflect the operational needs, processes and objectives of the business:
• Minimise paperwork and bureaucracy, whilst maintaining the necessary control:
• Build on existing client knowledge and expertise (you don't pay us to tell you what you already know!):
• Allow flexibility for future business developments:
• (Where this is a business objective) - assure compliance (for example, with ISO Standards).

Results: more efficient, more effective systems delivering greater benefit to their organisations through the increased engagement and ownership of their personnel.

For example - recent research concluded that two-thirds of environmental, health & safety and quality managers' time is spent just managing information - with little of that time "adding value." Given that much of that information needs to be managed by all organizations - whether or not they can afford dedicated EHSQ managers - any reduction of that time by introducing more efficient systems releases a direct, quantifiable benefit straight onto the bottom line.

How do we make a start?

The starting point is always a conversation. If you have read this far, and since we don't do "cold-calling," the next step is for you to open that conversation - whether by phone, e-mail or letter. There's no cost to the conversation, and no risk to you!

We will always -

• Meet our prospective clients face to face, to discuss any potential collaboration. Without commitment, and free of charge.
• Provide them with a fully documented and costed Proposal before we start any work
• Keep them informed of whatever we are doing
• Provide back-up support and "helpline" availability for any client queries - even after we have finished the formal part of a project.

And if we don't believe we have the right fit, or the right solution, for you - we will tell you. (Though we might know of a man who does!)
