A local charitable organisation, Bury Lions Club have been helping the local community for many years by hosting many events from car boot sales through to the "big event" of the calendar year - the ever popular Bury Lions Carnival.

Formed back in 1967, Bury Lions Club was created by local business men and friends to serve the needs of many in the Bury area and to support local worthy causes,our community and worldwide disasters since that time.
Bury Lions is part of a much larger voluntary organisation ( Lions Club International) which sees 1.3 million members of more than 46,000 clubs in 202 countries worldwide.
As a charitable organisation it takes hard work and determination to ensure that there is always something going on in order to raise funds for good causes. Bury Lions Club is no exception and is constantly striving to promote local events as a means to raising money for good causes. One such event is Bury Carnival which has seen thousands of people becoming involved since it began. Car boot sales are also a big part of the Lion's fundraising activities throughout the year - these start from April onwards and dates can be found on the Bury Lions Club website.
Over the years there have been many recipients from the events hosted by Bury Lions Club charitable Organisation. From the 2009 Carnival alone, just short of £4,000 was handed over to the following good causes:
