We booked a table for 4 over the phone, and were greeted with a very Italian sounding gentlemen, (which was reassuring) who gladly took our booking for a table on a Saturday night.
The restaurant itself is two floors. Decked out in candlelit lighting, and leather bound seating. We were escorted upstairs to a booth, away from a noisy hen party. A waiter came over a few minutes later and took our drinks order. Nothing was a problem for our waiter who was very professional. Even when my friend took a while to choose her order.
We chose a large pizza shaped garlic bread to share for a starter. My friend and I choose the veal with root vegetables on the side. Although tender, I choose medium rare as I wanted the meat to be warm throughout. It was slightly cold.
My partner had a pizza, which was crisp, large and hot throughout.
My friends partner who is a faddy eater opted for some spicy pasta, which came in a creamy & spicy sauce. Throughout the meal our waiter left us to it, but came to us straight away if we wanted another drink.
We opted for dessert, and ordered some chocolate cake, and ice cream separately. My partner had nothing bad to say about the ice cream.
The only thing I would say about the cake is that the frosting was a bit hard, and it would have benefited from being served with some cream, or heated on request.
The meal in total came to £70ish for 4 people having
x1 starter, x4mains and x3 desserts, plus two rounds of drinks.
We were treated like royalty whilst we dined, and even had the door opened for us when we left. We throughout enjoyed our experience here, and will be returning. Many thanks to the fantastic waiting staff, who were presentable and polite
