Quite possibly the worst meal I've ever had. Hour and a half wait, nine of us, but only us in pub. Steak blue on a sandwich, dips missing, salmon salad had no salad, hair in the olives, bread bun for soup stuck to serviette. Spicy tomato soup tasted more like bitter tomato! No apology for wait until after we had complained about the food, which we had to eat as we were starving after we had been to lay my grandad to rest in the church next door and waited so long for it to arrive. We had checked earlier in the day that they were ok with us going in and they had said this was fine. Sorry will not ever be visiting again.

With the excellent food produced by Jackie and the music and atmosphere produced by Steve a night at the 'Next Door' is one to remember. As one of Bury's leading english restaurants, Next Door offer carefully prepared food made with only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients.

What a great place! Friendly atmosphere and Steve, the joint owner, is a real character so we had a good laugh as well as excellent food cooked by his wife Jackie. Steve even gave us a lift home , as we'd walked a mile to get there-amazing service! All 5 courses were perfectly cooked or prepared, and the cheese board had a choice of 8 cheeses, so we tried them all. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Based in Ramsbottom, Bury, The Fisherman's Retreat is known locally as one of the area's premier english restaurants, serving a range of home reared meats with specialist wine or whisky.

The quality of food and service equals that of a high end city centre restaurant but with the friendliness and surroundings of a cosy country establishment. Highly recommended.
Victoria Hotel has built an enviable reputation as one of Bury's best English restaurants, serving a fantastic range of home cooked dishes made with only the freshest ingredients, which are locally sourced wherever possible.

After reading such positive reviews for the food at this pub our party of 4 decided to lunch here today. We meet regularly for pub lunches and have had some lovely meals in the pubs around Bury. How we wish we had left this pub when we entered it - the carpets hadn't been vacuumed, there were crumbs on the tables (which I assume was from the previous day because there was no-one else in the pub!). However, we decided to stay and ordered our meals. When they arrived we couldn't believe how terrible they were!! The cheese and onion pie had a covering which was trying to excuse itself for pastry (looked like a slice of wet lasagne), the beef in the steak and potato pies was just inedible dried out cubes and the venison sausage more like a springboard! I can honestly say that this was the worst pub meal we have ever had!!
