New Indiana Jones Review

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is directed by Steven Spielberg, it is set in 1957 and is the fourth from the Indiana Jones film series. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is quite a lot older than when we last saw him and as usual he manages to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. He finds himself coming up against agents of the Soviet Union, led by Irina Spalko (a crazy Soviet Union lady) played by (Cate Blanchett). Irina is searching for the crystal skull, which is an un-earthly object of power and control. Indiana is once again reunited with his old flame Marion (Karen Allen) and her son Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf). Mac (Ray Winstone) is Indiana's fellow adventure sidekick but unfortunately he has a very different objective to that of Indiana.

I love the Indiana films, I could watch them over and over but I'm not too sure this is the same. Don't get me wrong I'm glad I watched the film and its not a bad film, I just didn't think it quite had the same feel to it as the old ones. Maybe I'm showing my age (after all I'm 22!) but the old Indiana films just had a certain feel good factor and I didn't find it here.

If you're looking for action then there's plenty and the relationship between Indiana and Mutt is good comedy. Harrison Ford does a fantastic job (and he looks great), I also like Shia LaBeof, I think he is a good young actor who has a lot to offer.

I think for anybody who hasn't seen the first Indiana films then this is a good watch, but I think if you had your heart set on another classic you won't really find it here.

I'd give this film 3 out of 5.

lease leave a blog on what you thought of this film.
