Such a lovely place to do yoga. Lots of different classes to suit all.
I am doing antenatal yoga here and I love it. Carole is a wonderful instructor and makes everything so fun. The centre is great, and so easily accessible with their own parking. Yummy little cafe too - perfect for a bowl of homemade soup after a class, or to treat yourself to a homemade flapjack.
I LOVE the self centre! I go to the self centre as much as i can to relax from a hard day at work! I don't know what I would with out the class and the ME time! Big love for Carole and Rosie xxxxxxxxxxxx
Herb & Spice Cafe at the self centre -The staff are very friendly and helpful. Certainly do not need Mary Portus to sort them out! Cakes and drinks always delicious and served with a smile & cafe is welcoming.
I had never heard of the Self Centre until I was invited to a networking event there. It's an amazing place, not only for its treatments, therapies and classes. But an excellent venue for business meetings and the most delicious, wholesome food.If you have not had lunch there then make sure you do. They also offer outside catering for business lunches and they make the most delicious chocolate brownies in the whole of Bury St Edmunds.
Seriously, the Self Centre is one of the most welcoming and lovely places in the whole of England, let alone just Bury St Edmunds! They offer loads of different yoga classes (so there is something to suit everyone's taste), Pilates and Tai Chi. There are loads of activities for pregnant women and children. The Herb and Spice cafe, run by Lizzie, serves yummy food at a reasonable price - the perfect venue for a catch up with friends! All the complementary therapists are wonderful, and there is also a beautician and a hairdressers! They hire out rooms for meetings which makes a nice change from the normal boring places you normally find. They also have loads of talks / workshops running all the time, for example, a free talk on 'emotional eating' that anyone can attend! You'd never get bored coming to this place!(and the reception staff are all fantastic - friendly and helpful!)
The shop is amazing you can get everything for the kitchen with helpful staff and a lovely layout
I think this is a great concept. The centre caters provides service of men and women, the very young and those of mature years who are wanting to improve their health and well being. It is a venue where people can hold meetings or linger over coffee or a tasty vegetarian lunch in the cafe and all products are carefully sourced. Not only does the centre offer opportunities in house but it also goes out into the local community, working in schools, within the local government offices where it provides a variety of experiences in situ.It is a vibrant business but achieves a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
Wonderful relaxing classes, very friendly staff, lovely foodie in the cafe, an all round up-lifting experience which lifts the mood and helps make you feel energised. ThanX Pauline
big love for the ladies at the self centre! such a great place to chill out and have a brownie and maybe do some yoga now and then! ha!
Lovely little business, friendly staff and always welcoming! :)
I highly recommend The Self Centre as a wonderful venue for your Business Conference or Training Workshop. The room is light and airy, with plenty of natural light and excellent air conditioning. The service provided by the Self Centre team is second to none. The catering is first class: a very wide range of health-aware beverages and delicious, nutritional (and naughty!) snacks and refreshments. A big "Thank You" to Carole, Rosie and the Team.
I went to the Self Centre as a yoga virgin a year ago to see if it could supplement my training and help with my bad back and the plethora of sports injuries that I had accumulated over many years. It has done that and more and yoga is now the bedrock of all my training. The range of classes and fantastic workshops means there is something for everyone - all levels of ability are catered for; whether it's a dynamic and challenging class, something more restorative to help with injury rehab, pure relaxation and stress release or just 90 minutes of occupying the space from the neck down rather than running on the hamster wheel between your ears! All the instructors are lovely as well being extremely competent teachers, and I cannot recommend the Self Centre highly enough to be the place to try an activity that truly is for everyone, as you pick the classes you want to get want you need out of them.I can also thoroughly recommend the healing hands of Hannah who has worked wonders on my stubborn stroppy shoulders with her massage too !The self centre has become my one stop shop for treatments and training and I feel extremely lucky to have such a gem of a place near where I live.
I first visited The Self Centre for Yoga (classes are great, just the right combination of fun and work, which my muscles are sure to remind me of the day after), but I felt so comfortable there that I seldom go anywhere else. The children and I get our hair cut there, lunch at the cafe (love the salads with all those seeds and things, feel virtuous just eating it, no need for yoga!), Hannah's lovely hands relax me with a massage and Laurie has fixed me with his chinese herbalism. The warm welcome extended to all who step through the doors is special. The Self Centre feeds my body and soul.
I started going to the Self Centre in January to the ante-natal yoga classes. I made some good friends there and we now all go to the post natal yoga class together with our babies! There’s a café there which does great food and smoothies which is lovely to stay and have lunch at after working up an appetite. I’ve found it to be a really friendly place with lots going on and a big choice of classes and courses.
The Self Centre is an excellent place to practice yoga. From the welcoming attitude of Rosie at the front desk to the exceptional knowledge given from the yoga instructors, I would recommend the self centre to everyone on their own yoga journey.
the self centre is a fantastic place to leave the world behind, relax and chill out. The excellent facilities for meetings are complimented by a great range of healthy organic food in the herb and spice cafe. But what is really great is the self centreʼs motivation - it is a social enterprise and reinvests all its profits back into the business. I have even tried the yoga classes - no better way to relieve the stress after a hectic day in the office. Canʼt recommend it enough!
I have attended a couple of classes at this lovely centre.I also regularly come to several networking meetings, early morning delicously nutritious breakfasts and evening yummy snacks... when I could not stay to have my supper there recently(due to workoverload..), the centre owner, Carole, wrapped my supper in foil and I was able to have it at home in peace...
I can highly recommend theHerb and Spice Cafe. The breakfasts are so delicious and nutritious in such a relaxed atmosphere. Also had a fabulous vegetarian moussaka there one evening. very yummy.
