The first time we went there the staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived, quick friendly service with a smile which made all the difference for us. The food was lovely too, and reasonably priced - something for traditional tastes and a few more interesting ones too. Lots of pictures on the wall from the local history of the airfield, if you like that sort of thing, just gives the place a lot more character than your usual pub / restaurant.

I am new on the base and was told to use this directory to find all I need to use whilst living in Bury. I love this place as it is full of the history and the airforce presence.

Great for bringing visiting relatives with good helpings and reasonable prices.

We visited the flying fortress on the 12/2/10 for a early valentines meal. the staff were very welcoming and friendly as were the locals!!
Our food was delicious! we will definately be back in the near future. :D Thanks

Had some american friends coming to visit all the local world war 2 memorabilia, they told me they had the best carvery ever afterwards at the Flying Fortress.
Great atmosphere too and they met some locals with more stories to tell,and they were made to feel very welcome.

Love the carvery, especially when I am not in the mood to cook Sunday lunch for the family. Keith and the staff at the Flying Fortress are always very welcoming and the food is great value for money.
