and Natural Healthcare Council

and a qualified Bowen Therapist

Bowen Therapy
Anita qualified as a Bowen therapist in 2001 and is a member of the Bowen Therapy Professional Association.

Bowen therapy is a drug-free, non-invasive, hands-on complementary therapy which is suitable for all ages. It helps to re-balance the body and promotes healing. Rather than 'making' the body change, Bowen 'asks' the body to recognise and make required changes.

During Bowen therapy Anita will make small, rolling movements over muscles, soft tissue, ligaments and tendons at precise points on your body using her fingers and thumbs. Bowen therapy does not involve hard tissue manipulation or force.

After each set of movements Anita will allow your body to rest for a few minutes to initiate the healing process. Sessions can last 30 - 60 minutes, and most people find them very relaxing.

Bowen therapy can help with a wide range of conditions including:

  • Ear problems
  • Bronchial/respiratory problems
  • Tennis elbow
  • Back pain
  • Menstrual problems
  • Knee problems
  • Hay fever
  • Shoulder problems
  • Infant colic
  • RSI
  • Pelvic pain
  • Hamstring problems

Celebrity comments on Bowen Therapy:

"I say give it a go before there's any talk of surgery or other more drastic treatment. Try Bowen … and like me, you may get one heck of a surprise."
Bill Tarmey (Jack Duckworth from Coronation Street)

"Bowen has helped keep my body together despite the continual bashing it takes. It's a vital support in putting right a whole range of new aches and pains, making sure that old injuries don't cause me problems, and helping me fight stress and fatigue."
Bear Grylls (Born Survivor, Channel 4)

Complementary therapies
Anita is a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the regulatory body for complementary healthcare practitioners and is bound by their code of ethics.

Hopi Ear Candling
During Hope ear candling the hollow candles draw impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed, and a plug within the candle prevents anything entering your ear. Hope ear candling will equalise the pressure in your ears and head and is a relaxing, soothing therapy.

Anita is trained in the use of an otoscope and will examine your inner ear before treatment to ensure you do not have an infection.

Hopi Candling can help with:

  • Excessive or compacted wax
  • Glue ears and sinus problems
  • Tinitus
  • Pressure regulation

The therapy is recommended before air travel and can provide energetic revitalisation for people with a hearing impairment

Reiki
During Reiki treatment Anita will transfer healing energy to you through energy attunements which enable energy to flow from her to you. The therapy will stimulate your own natural healing process and can help with:

  • Help with aches and pains
  • Stress relief
  • Help with depression

You will remain fully clothed during Reiki therapy.

Indian Head Massage
Practised in Asia for over 5,000 years, Indian Head Massage works on the head, scalp , face and neck and extends to the shoulders and back. It can

  • Reduce stress
  • Increase energy levels
  • Stimulate and improve circulatory and lymphatic systems
  • Improve hair condition

You will find the 40-45 minute treatment soothing and relaxing.

Holistic Facial Massage
A form of reflexology applied to the face, during a holistic facial massage your circulation will be stimulated by massaging pressure points. After a holistic facial massage your face will appears rejuvenated and 'alive' and the technique induces deep relaxation.

Although a facial massage, this treatment affects your whole body as your nervous system calms down and blood flow around your body is increased.
