I'd like to say a HUGE thank you for you super kind gifts you sent over last week. We were bowled over by your generosity! Lilly LOVES her princess outfit and her pyjamas, Matt is thrilled to bits with the TV and I was chuffed to pieces with the beautiful flowers and wine :) It was very unexpected and so massively kind of you. We've had a pretty crap start to the new year with ill health and problems at Lilly's school so it was just so lovely to have something good happen. Thanks again. Appreciate it so much.

Me and Dee, led by the amazing Maria Hanson, is a fantastic charity that works tirelessly to support families who are going through a difficult time. Not only do they provide treats to the children/person nominated, but they also offer emotional support by devoting time by being there, listening and helping in any way they can. A very deserving and worthy charity x
Me&Dee are just so honest and personal. They really care about the whole family, and all of this is done with absolute love. They are also one of the very few charities that do not walk away and forget you when your child has died. I am so touched by the work that they do. This isn't a huge charity with loads of money where there is no personal thought or care. Its the little touches with Me&Dee that really count. I can't thank them enough for their work.

Me & Dee,Maria,such a special organisation.They so very kindly organised a special treat for my boys when my eldest was seriously ill with a brain tumour.Because of my sons treatment we spent a lot of time in hospital or at home recovering, Maria arranged an X-Box 360 for them both to enjoy & they really do! Me & Dee was one of the first charities that we began working with. Maria is a Saint and one of the most wonderful people in this world. The work that Maria puts into Me & Dee is unbelievable and the children and families that she has touched is vast. This charity I believe is one that deserves immense recognition. I have known Maria for ten years and have seen how she has had to persevere through her own disabilities only to move on and help others with theirs. Maria has done this through creating the charity ‘Me & Dee’ through which she has demonstrated compassion and understanding for other persons facing life debilitating conditions. With an appreciation that the smallest thing may sometimes be of the biggest help Me & Dee is able to reach out to people in ways possibly neglected through other sources. The fact that there are so many people now applying for treats from Me & Dee provides testimony to this. Me & Dee has been able to sustain itself and provide treats to persons even though as a small charity it lacks a continuous revenue stream or the public awareness that larger organisations are able to muster. Hopefully Me & Dee will be able to provide support to those who ask for many years in the future.
A wonderful Charity. Mee & Dee were so generous and sent my daughter Enya a portable DVD Player. She was very poorly at the time having Chemptherapy but it made those hospital visits so much easier. Thank you Mee & Dee. xx

When i first came upon meanddee it was through basic work related reasons (thankfully!)..Once id heard what maria was doing and what this charity was ALL about, it instantly struck a chord with me. Why? Im not sure, as Ive never been affected by the things that maria faces daily (thankfully!) but yes i have kids and I knew in that instance I HAD to help in whatever way i could, and i told her as much!..That was back in sep/nov last year and NOW im in a position wherby i can help. Im doing this along with 32 auditioness from BBC The Voice, we're recording a charity single for whcih ALL the proceeds will go to Marias cause. What she has to do each month to bring in finances for the charity is enough to test any person who has optimum health, yet Maria does it for meanddee kids AND adults on a daily basis even though she hasnt 100% health herself. I shall continue to raise awareness for finances for this charity, and also continue to raise funds as and when i can.They NEED more help folk

Maria is a wonderful kind and loving person and my grandaughter has received abeautiful gift from Me and Dee which has helped give some happiness to a brave little girl at present having chemo for a recurrent brain tumour.I am truly grateful for the words of encouragement and support from Maria and also the work she does for the teenage cancer unit at BCH thanks again MariaxxRita
There are not enough words to describe how special Me and Dee is. After three years of intensive and often isolated hospital treatment, Maria was able to provide the one thing my son craved..a chance to spend time with his friends at Thorpe Park.Not a life changing gift by any means, but the one thing that he wanted..to spend time with the friends that he had been missing throughout his long years of treatment. It wasn't just a treat for him.. it was special for his friends too..being ill doesnt just affect the person in hospital..it affects their friends and family too. Maria recognised this and was able to provide a memorable day for them all. As teenagers, there is nothing more important than being with your friends. Because of Maria, Alex and his friends have been inspired to raise money for Me and Dee.. and they all consider her to be a friends and to be a huge part of all of their lives. We dont have angels on this earth.. but if we did, they would look like Maria Hanson.x
This amazing charity helps to make people smile...Maria is such a kind and generous person who devotes her time to bringing sunshine to others lives...truly remarkable! My 6 year old daughter was over the moon with her treat! It's given her a fantastic boost and something to look forward to! Maria you deserve all the wonderful things being said and more!!
I met Maria through her scheme that puts free of charge comfort packs into childrens wards of hospitals. The packs contain a two day supply for both parents and children of toiletries and instant foods such as cup a soups to relieve the pressure of having to get the things yourself.This is just one of the examples of the brilliant and never ending work that Me&Dee does along with the treats for people with life threatening or shortening illness. To many charities the children are just a name or number in a filing system, however Marias knowledge of the children and their illnesses has always amazed me. Maria certainly is an inspiration to all who meet her, she has made Me&Dee a success which in turn makes life more bearable for hundreds of children and people in so many ways. This is not a huge charity with a team of professional fund raisers and admin staff, Maria has built Me&Dee to the amazing level it is virtually single handedly. Its an honour to count Maria as a friend
Maria supported my daughter when her son was ill and looked after all of the family in one way or another. My grandson was so appreciative of the friendship and support that he received that when he was well he abseiled a very large building to raise funds for Mee and Dee as one way of saying Thank You. Alex's gift was to be able to spend a day with his friends at Thorpe Park doing what "normal" young people do. This was after a period of isolation from his friends as he recovered from a bone marrow transplant. Maria is a an amazing person who gives so much time to making wishes come true. Our daughter was one of the children Maria has granted a wish for and seeing the huge smile on her face was priceless. Our little girl spends so much time in and out of hospitals and appointments, surgeries, intensive physiotherapy and also has more worries than any child should ever have, she lives with chronic pain and fatigue but in spite of it all, she wants to be a normal little girl. Maria and the Me and Dee charity work tirelessly to provide families with treats to give people lasting memories. Not only does Maria arrange the treats they pay for them and ensures everything is perfect for the families.Not only does Maria arrange all of this, even though she is not in the best of health herself. She was also a tower of strength and support when my niece was seriously ill throughout the summer with a stroke following her treatment for a malignant brain tumour.Thank you Maria for everything you have done for us and Abi xxx
Me & Dee makes Perfect Moments Perfectly Simple. The onus of laborious form filling is removed, the need to "prove" the seriousness of the illness is taken away, the organisation, phone calling, email writing and all the other bits which take so much time and effort is all taken care of quietly and efficiently. All your left with is a perfect memory of a happy smiling child. If only Me & Dee ran the World!

Since moving in to our Castle Donington offices in 2011, I have been amazed at Maria's commitment to her charity and how hard she works for the adults and children she helps. She is totally altruistic -a quality rare to say the least. Despite not enjoying the best of health herself, she works from early in the morning until the early hours of the next morning to fulfil as many wishes as possible. Always in pain and frequently exhausted, her dedication is remarkable and truly admirable. dbs are proud that me and dee chose us to base the charity and we will continue to help them all we can.

Hello...my little boy was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer aged3. He has endured 2 years of intensive chemotherapy and surgery. After spending his 4th and 5th birthday in hospital....we had contact from Maria ar Mee &dee. She arranged for Lewis to visit Cadburys World as a VIP! He loves willy wonka and he got spoilt rotten all day all thanks to this amazing charity....please vote Mee &dee ..jaime Mighty
Never have i met anyone with so much compassion and heartfelt understanding in my life. the energy and enthusiasm that maria has for this charity is a inspiration to each and eveyone one of us. I've watched this lady pursue the dream she & her dear cousin shared to provide lovely experiences for people in difficult circumstances. It's easy to see she fundraises tirelessly but what may not be so obvious is the personal, supportive relationships with children and parents in the most gruelling, and sometimes tragic, circumstance. Via Facebook(and other means), she shares their hopes and their sadnesses. Maria doesn't just provide money or treats, she provides humanity and a shoulder to cry on. She is not simply a dedicated fundraiser for people who need her. She is a trusted,steadfast friend. When someone contacts Me&Dee, they are signing up for the services of someone very special-and life changing-indeed. And that has nothing to do with "business" and everything to do with "love".
Many charities give treats to children that are ill. My son had a treat from one of the major charities. To them he was another child that was ill. To Maria my son and all the other children she has treated are family. Maria has an amazing ability to make a child feel so special and she works tirelessly to make sure the children get the best possible treat.I am now proud to call Maria a friend. Me and Dee is a brilliant charity and touches the heart of all who come into contact with it.

Maria is a remarkable,tireless,devoted lady-who has made a huge difference to the lives of so many-who needed that little sparkle in difficult and trying times. We had a memorable 'night at the museum' planned for my 8 yr old girls birthday,also as an unforgettable celebration after her kidney transplant 3 months previously.Maria kindly arranged and paid for an 8 seater vehicle to get us all to london and back safely-which made the whole trip simple, straight forward and fun travelling together, leaving us to focus on a wonderful weekend to remember.Thankyou Maria- a kind and special lady.xx
Well what can I say, Maria (@Mee & Dee) is the most kind, caring, loving person I have ever met and will do anything in her power just to see children smile. She made it possible for my daughter Lucy to spend a few hours with Robbie Savage and the Derby County team at the training ground, they had a game of pool and some lunch. The following day she got tickets to watch them play with her dad and brother. Maria even made her a memory book with loads of photographs etc which she looks through every night in bed. Maria also arranged a hummer limo ride for my eldest daughter and a group of her friends for her 13th birthday, including photos. These are things we will never forget and we will always be forever grateful for, no words can express how hard Maria works and how much she cares about the people she helps.
