East Staffordshire Community and Voluntary Service
about us
East Staffordshire Community & Voluntary Service (ESCVS) is the Council for Voluntary Service covering the East Staffordshire district. We are a company limited by guarantee (Company no 5712135) and a registered charity (no 1114297) and have been in existence for nearly thirty years.
East Staffs Community & Voluntary Service (ESCVS) does what it says on the tin - we are here to serve the community by supporting the many voluntary organisations that offer services or activities across East Staffordshire!
How do we support them?
Our Development team assist new groups to start up, ensuring they have the correct policies and procedures in place, advising on legal requirements and start up funding. They help existing groups to develop and access funding and help equip more established groups with the necessary skills to bid for tenders. Our Volunteer Centre recruits volunteers and places them with organisations needing their skills and experience.
How do we get the money to do this?
As a registered charity our funding has historically come from grants from the Local Authority, District Council and other providers such as the Big Lottery. The economic climate has changed over the last 5 years and we have had to diversify our income streams to survive. In addition to the projects we are paid to run, we now sell a variety of services. Generating income through trade enables us to continue to deliver our development services to the voluntary and community sector free of charge.
What services do we sell?
