The Carriage House Restaurant is putting on a Mushroom Foray in the Claydon Estate Woods in Buckinghamshire only a short distance from Buckingham on Saturday 31st October 09. Mushroom Expert from the River Cottage, John Wright will be there demonstrating his vast knowledge and expertise.
When the event was held last year John found 53different types of mushrooms before lunch. The mushrooms were all laid out, all named, in the woods, where lunch was taken. Baskets of Hedgehog Mushrooms were collected and delicious specials were created in in The Carriage House Restaurant using them.
This is a fantastic day out and you can buy gift vouchers for friends and relatives. The day lasts from 9am to 5pm and costs only £95. This includes breakfast in the Carriage House Restaurant, a Morning Foray followed by lunch in the woods (weather permitting) cooked by Head Chef Tim matthews, an afternoon foray followed by tea in the Carriage House Restaurant with cakes from the Courtyard Chocolatier.
