I attended the first aid course last week with Martin. It was a great day; I attended a 1st aid course a few years ago but it was certainly not a comprehensive as this one. The day ran very smoothly and i felt totally confident by the end of it that i possessed all the knowledge i needed to be able to use first aid should i ever need to. Thanks Martin.

I needed to drop you a line to thank you for the fantastic training that you delivered which ultimately resulted in me being able to save my father’s life whilst we were on holiday in the lake district two weeks ago.

Mum and Dad are both in their 70’s and still quite spritely but on the Thursday morning Dad didn’t seem quite right but insisted that he was although he didn’t want to take the dog for a walk after lunch which was unusual.

Just before 3pm we heard a crashing sound coming from the kitchen and upon going to investigate found Dad laying face down on the floor. He was unresponsive and upon checking found that he was not breathing. My mind went into overdrive and panic did set in but everything that you had taught me came flooding back. I managed to do mouth to mouth and CPR whilst my Mum called for an ambulance.

It seemed ages before an ambulance arrived but was probably less than 15 minutes. The Paramedics uses equipment similar to that which you showed us on the course and gave Dad a shock. This was terrifying. I have seen this done on TV but to witness this happening to a loved one is an experience I hope I never have to go through again.

As they were leaving the Paramedics congratulated me and said that everything that I had done had given Dad the best possible chances of survival. They said Dad had suffered a cardiac arrest.

We are now two weeks on and Dad has made a tremendous improvement, he does not remember a thing about the incident thankfully.

I have told everyone that I speak to, to contact you and do a First Aid Course just so they know what to do if the need arises.

I cannot thank you enough for giving me the skills that I needed that day.
