ETHICS
I source my gemstones from all over the world, trying to get as close to the source of manufacture as I can. I want to pay as much as I can to the people I buy from in third world countries including village craftspeople and Thai Hill Tribes. I am in the embryonic stages of starting a small business in Thailand where I will be able to help sustain the community by providing a constant demand for hand-made silver and clay beads.
VALUE
Why gild the lily? Actually, by the time you have cut, facetted and polished a stone, how much of it is left?!! Personally I love things the way nature intended, including gem stones but I also use clay, silver, wood, feathers, even nuts in my designs!
Cherish is all about value. Time and time again my clients are bowled over when it comes to costs. But don't forget, I have no shop overheads, or wages to pay out, and by cutting out the middle men I save on their fees and therefore operate a "more than fair trade" policy.
