Welcome to Bromsgrove United Charities, the only housing organisation in Bromsgrove to provide sheltered accommodation with resident wardens.
Bromsgrove United Charities is an amalgam of many local charities some of which were founded over four hundred years ago. The principal function of the organisation is to provide sheltered accommodation for local residents, both single persons and married couples, who feel they might benefit from warden support. Bromsgrove United Charities is the only housing organisation in Bromsgrove that has resident wardens.
Where are the homes situated?
Phebe Bell Court is to be found at The Flats and Kathleen Field Court at Churchfields Road in Sidemoor.
Who runs the organisation?
There is a board of 9 trustees, who have local connections. The day to day administration is carried out by the Clerk and the Treasurer who are part time appointees responsible to the Chairman.
Who is eligible to apply for residency?
Any pensionable person or couple regardless of gender or racial origin who lives, has lived or has close connections within the boundary of Bromsgrove District Council subject to receipt of references and an initial assessment.
What is the accommodation?
Self contained single and double flats, each comprising a sitting room, bedroom, bath/shower room and kitchen. The buildings are modern and surrounded by well kept flower gardens and lawns. Communal areas include laundry facilities, a sitting room where social events take place and a small kitchen. The homes are warden controlled with assistance alarms in each flat. Residents receive daily contact with with the warden for help and advice to help them remain independent as long as possible.
How do I/we apply for residency?
By contacting the Clerk who will arrange for a viewing of one or both establishments and who will provide an initial application form if you wish to proceed.
