A HANDY Bromsgrove dad-of-two is the new DIY expert on a new Channel 4 programme which starts tomorrow (Monday).
Self-employed Huntley Thawe, who has been carrying out jobs in homes across Birmingham and Bromsgrove for almost 20 years, is relishing his new role on The Renovation Game.
He said he could not believe it when he was asked if he wanted to be involved in the new show.
"I said yes straight away - how could I pass up the chance to be the next handyman on a new TV show – what an opportunity."
Each episode sees Huntley and his fellow expert colleagues, including a designer and plasterer, put to the test - they are given just £3,000 and three days to revamp a house and increase its value by £15,000. But, if they fail in their quest, they do not get paid.
“It’s been great fun to film, but really hard work, especially when you’re not sure if you’re going to get paid.
“But this should hopefully bring a bit more business in now or, who knows, maybe I might even get my own show,” added Huntley.
The Renovation Game is at 11am on Channel 4 on Mondays.
