A short film starring Les Dennis in support of Macmillan Cancer UK has been filmed at
Hillscourt Conference Centre who are members of
thebestof Bromsgrove. The film will be shown at the Cannes film festival in 2009.
The backdrop to the film is a doctor's waiting room and a variety of well known faces go through funny situations while they are waiting to see the doctor. The majority of the speaking is in rhyme - written by local poets lead by Birmingham's 11th Poet Laureate, 'Spoz.'
As filming has only just taken place, further details such as the final cast will be confirmed soon.
I'm sure that you'll all agree that the support and care provided to those with cancer and their families by Macmillan nurses is amazing. Macmillan relies on voluntary donations for 99% of their income - they couldn't do their wonderful work without that income. Therefore this film is a fantastic opportunity to make more funds for them and to raise their profile even further.
