TOWNSFOLK have been given an early Christmas present with free parking at Bromsgrove District Council’s town centre car parks in the two weekends before the big day.
Bromsgrove District Council is offering free use of its car parks on December 17, 18, and on Christmas Eve.
This means motorists using the Stourbridge Road, School Drive, Windsor Street, New Road, Hanover Street, Churchfields, Recreation Road South and North, Parkside, and Dolphin Centre car parks will not need to pay and display on those days.
Barriers at entrances and exits of pay on foot car parks will be raised, and parking meters will be covered with plastic to indicate that no payment for parking is required.
Drivers are reminded, to ensure car parks remain safe and accessible at all times, normal car park rules will be in operation over the free periods.
Councillor Michael Webb, Bromsgrove District Council portfolio holder for leisure, cultural and environmental services, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer residents and visitors a festive holiday from parking charges.
“Free car parking is always welcome, and it should be a boost for our traders too.”
