Getting the right Home Tutor from the start can make all the difference!
Welcome to PROGRESS EDUCATION - the friendly and professional tutoring experts you can rely on.
“Our daughter’s result for the 11+ was simply fantastic! She made the Top 180 group of kids for the Bexley Tests and achieved maximum scores of 140 points per subject in the Kent Tests. We are so proud of her. Thank you for the top-grade teachers you provided and the first class support she received at the 11+ revision sessions in Bromley. Please inform her teachers and give them our warm thanks for a job well done!”
Mrs Okwok, October 27th 2011
It is Progress Education policy, NEVER to provide free lists of tutors. This, in our opinion is a lazy way of providing a tutoring service. It introduces an element of luck, often wasting valuable time trying one tutor after another hoping to find a 'good one'.
We are proud to offer a careful matching service with ongoing tutor monitoring to ensure a high standard of tuition is maintained.
Home Tuition:
There is no magic bullet to successful home tutoring. We work hard to follow three important principles to ensure our students receive the high standard of tuition they rightly deserve. These principles are:
- A careful student-To-Tutor matching Service
From the minute you contact us for help we will take time to listen, no matter how long it takes. It is so important that we understand the individual needs of the student to be able to select the best tutor possible. Student-To-Tutor matching is no easy task, we have to ensure that a student and tutor are compatible in every way possible to ensure the tuition is a success.
2. Tutor monitoring
We request tuition feedback from parents and students via telephone calls, emails and questionnaires to help us monitor a student’s progress and also to identify a tutor’s specific strengths or possible weaknesses on an ongoing basis. This valuable information is then used to improve our overall service and also to help us perfect our Student-To-Tutor matching.
3. A strict and careful vetting procedure:
Tutor vetting is the most crucial and important part of our service. We are constantly approached by prospective tutors but only select those that fulfill all our requirements. In addition we recruit tutors for their friendly personalities and willingness to help students achieve their goals.
ID, qualifications, professional references and enhanced CRB documents are all checked.
We NEVER recruit students or undergraduates for tutoring work.

Are you Aware of the problems your child faces when they have to revise for their final exams?
Progress Education is so much more than a home tutoring agency!
We also have over 10 years experience of providing Specialist 11plus, GCSE and ‘A’ Level Revision Courses at the Ripley Arts Centre, Sundridge Avenue, Bickley, Bromley. BR1 2PX
This is what parents and students have to say about our specialist courses:
11 plus:
“My son said the course prepared and showed him what to expect in the 11+ exam. He enjoyed working with the same ability children. The course was excellent. Alfie passed his 11+!"
Mrs McLaren, 11plus, November 2009.
GCSE:
“Was really good, learnt more in two days than I have in two years.”
Alex White, GCSE French, April 2007.
“I found this course very effective. My knowledge before the course was not enough to be able to understand the things required in my exam but by going through the techniques deeply, I can see what I will need to do in order to get my desired GCSE grade. The discussion activities were very effective. Regular breaks and provision of snacks were excellent.”
Habeeb Akande, GCSE English, April 2011
“I found this course really helpful. We revised all the areas I didn’t understand and covered all the topics for the exam in 2 days, something that is hard to do. Really nice people here, and Maria is very nice. The quality of the teaching was excellent.”
Boalji Abiodun, GCSE Maths, April 2011
A Level:
“The quality of the teaching was high, it was a relaxed atmosphere whilst still managing to go through all the topics. A wide range of materials were provided such as videos, slide shows, diagrams and websites. We managed to cover topics in detail. I really enjoyed the course and would be happy to tell my friends about it."
Alexandra Egberongbe, ‘A’ Level Chemistry, April 2011
“A cheerful and friendly environment that has genuinely made me feel more confident about my exam.”
Barney Low, ‘A’ Level Biology, April 2009.
Since 1997 our qualified and experienced tutors have been successfully helping students of all ages and abilities reach their full potential.
