I am writing to you to tell you how pleased we have been with the treatment that we have had at your Mottingham clinic. My 15 yr old son had a very painful injury during a school rugby match last November. He was in a lot of pain in his lower back and his muscles were in acute spasm. Clara spent 10 sessions getting him back to full strength. The care and treatment she gave was fantastic. She was so thorough and professional. Every session he was encouraged to do just a little bit more. Clara worked in the gym with him and took him to the local sports field to build his confidence back on the pitch. He was given exercises to do at home and told how much or how little to attempt in school. We cannot thank Clara enough for all her hard work, giving our son the confidence to return to all his sports again and rugby in particular. She has kept in constant touch with us and the school, by email, to ensure he regains complete fitness. I have recommended Physio Active to a couple of friends already...and Clara in particular! Please thank Clara for us for all her hard work and dedication, it really is much appreciated.
I've been to Physioactive a number of times now and they have greatly helped with problem feet. I heatily recommend them.
Great physio practice, thoughtful and attentive approach which has done me a lot of good. Heartily recommended.
Chris treated me for my knee. He has a great blend of enthusiasm, cheeriness and professional skill. Each time he tried a new technique, your spirits lifted as he explained the reasons behind a treatment, which gave you as a patient confidence that he knows what he is doing. And he does. If I ever need further treatment, Chris Boynes will be my preferred physiotherapist. Thanks Chris. Physioactive has several centres in SE London and all of them are well equipped, airy and pleasant environments to be treated. (Incidentally, if you take the "n" out of Boynes you get Boyes. If you take the "y" out of Boynes you get bones. Put them together and you get Boynes Boyes bones better.) Thanks for all your help.
Laura has been my Pilates teacher for over 5 years and it is no exaggeration to say that she has saved my body! Laura is a highly gifted, intuitive & skilled teacher with a wonderfully calm & loving approach. I trust Laura completely and thanks to her I have regained my upper body mobility following a bad injury. An hour with Laura is an hour of restorative joy.
I have to keep fit for my job but I knew that I needed to boost my fitness to the next level and also wanted to tone up. I always fancied the idea of a personal trainer as my willpower is quite limited, and having known Tim for some years, I knew he would give me the motivation I needed to achieve my goals and push me on. I started working with Tim around September 2011 and after just 8 weeks I had lost 11.5cms from my waist and 7cm from my hips. This was through gym work with Tim once, occasionally twice a week. My cardio fitness was also improving and I could feel the benefits straight away. I instantly booked another 10 sessions and although the past few months have been extremely hard work – Tim will work you to failure – it has been thoroughly enjoyable with a few laughs along the way. I have my next 10 sessions booked up and now that Christmas is out of the way, I am determined to work even harder to achieve all of my goals.
I would like to compliment physioactive for the effective advice and treatment, which I received on 20 June. My problem, pain in the rt. hip, was carefully diagnosed. My physio knew very well the particular demands placed on body and muscles by tennis, which was helpful. He took me through a whole series of exercises designed to strengthen the weaker areas in hip, buttock and lower back. I moved much more easily afterwards. A copy of the exercises helped me to understand the importance of trying to bring more flexibility into the lower back, so that other muscles were not over-worked. The hour with my physio was money well-spent and a copy of the exercises meant that I could follow things up in my own time. He also helped me to mend a few bad habits in my own set of exercises. What was especially encouraging was that he never mentioned my age (although he knew it), but focused simply on solving the problem, which he did. It was really heartening not to hear the anno domini argument. My previous visit was about 5 years ago. I have always good service from physioactive.
The acupuncture treatment I have received from Ivy Xu has been very beneficial in alleviating painful symptoms from arthritis in my spine. Ivy's gentle, calm and competent manner is extremely reassuring, and I have no hesitation in recommending her therapy.
I was hoping to obtain pain relieve for my shoulder and tried acupuncture. It was a very effective treatment. I responded very well and would recommend anyone to give it a try.
Prior to acupuncture I was suffering on a daily basis with intense headaches around the crown of my head. After thee first treatment I experienced immediate changes, with the pressures decreasing rapidly and on some occasions becoming non-existent. Also, I believe Ivy's dietary recommendation has contributed to my progression as well. I still suffer with headaches but they are milder and occur less frequently as before.
I contacted PysioActive in July last year following an injury to my knee in a zumba class at the Spa. At the time it was so painful and swollen I could hardly get down the stairs after the class At my first session Tara did a full assessment and identified a weak hip and a foot that rolled inwards slightly. These problems helped to cause the weakness in my knee - and I didn't realise I had them. I was impressed that Tara had found the underlying problems and also that she referred me to my GP for confirmation that he was happy with her treatment (he was) I really liked Tara's positive attitude, she helped me to see that through strengthening exercises, manipulation, massage and ultra- sound . . . I could carry on dancing! She even came to the gym with me and showed me how to do knee exercises using their equipment. Gradually things started to improve and the swelling, pain and stiffness started to get a lot better. Tara recommended a knee support and sports shoe insole just for use during dance sessions. After Christmas, Tara started to reduce the physio sessions from once each week to about once every 3 - 4 weeks and by March she discharged me. The outcome was much better than I would have anticipated at the beginning and I have now recommended several of my friends to PhysioActive. Well done!
"Without Physioactive's unparalleled support I would be struggling with day to day life let alone competing at the top level in Skiing. Years of expert treatment from Jim Hopkins and the team helped me recover from a life changing injury to get back to international competition. I couldn't have been in better hands..."
I attended the clinic after hurting my foot and received great treatment. I only needed one session for that injury. I came back for treatment to my neck and shoulders which was also very good. I would highly recommend Physioactive.
After suffering back pain for 3 weeks, the painkillers and doctors weren’t helping. After one week of treatment and with a clear exercise program the pain had subsided significantly and I am optimistic that it will clear by following my physiotherapist Anthony’s advice.
I totally recommend Physioactive, I have never felt so much better. Having had Physio at other places which were no good I came to Physioactive on recommendation of a friend and I have never looked back. I feel that I have been given the best advice and treatment that I have ever been given. Much better than anywhere else. Thank you Anthony.
Chris was undoubtedly the best Physio I have ever dealt with. His knowledge and the way he dealt with things was second to none. He was a man you would respect, trust and had strong leadership qualities. I would have no reservations whatsoever in recommending Chris and his team. I couldn’t speak more highly of him during my time as a professional rugby player at London Irish. It is of no surprise to me whatsoever he is doing so well.

Huge thank you to Chris and Christian for their 3 day-miracle work on my daughter, Catherine Nuqui's ankle. She was able to have a clean comp (let me re-phrase; she was able to COMPETE!!) and did really well; Overall 5th and Top Beam scorer out of 52 girls! We couldn't be more pleased xxx
They employ the best physiotherapists in the area. In addition they offer other services including massage, acupuncture, beauty treatments, pilates, podiatry and many more. Their receptionists are helpful and friendly. They will always try to fit you in even at short notice.
PhysioActive's approach to the diagnosis and treatment of a long standing sports injury was exemplary. Having recommended further medical investigation I underwent surgery but returned to them for rehab. This was so successful that my surgeon used me as an example of the effectiveness of a well structured programme of physiotherapy and remedial exercise, both of which were provided by Chris Boynes of PhysioActive.
They stop niggles turning to "nasties" and when I had surgery after breaking my leg in six places, I thought I'd never walk properly again. Becky Hollier, my physio, was fantastic. Knowledgeable and encouraging, yet tenacious when I needed a "kick in the pants". She explored all avenues of aftercare and I am truly grateful that I can now walk with my head held high. Big Thanks to all at Physioactive...
Iâve never been tempted to write a testimonial as I wonder if those people giving glowing recommendations actually exist, however when searching for this web site to pass on to a friend I read the testimonial so eloquently written I felt compelled to support all that was said. I too was referred to Phsio Active several years ago by my G.P. who had personally used the practice. I have also suffered a range of conditions over the years causing severe mobility problems and pain. Due to the comprehensive range of treatment, advice and support I received from Chris and his team over the years Iâm able to do the things I cherish. I wonât be running any marathons, going skiing, taking part in the Olympics or other great sporting activities. Iâm just a grandmother in her late fifties with a full time office job a home and family. However I can now pick up my grandchildren and swing them round, I can play their games running skipping and jumping. I lead a full and active life pushing my own physical boundaries to do things I enjoy and wish to thank Physio Active for making this possible pain free. On a practical level I have appreciated their friendly no nonsense approach, I like that they kept my G.P. informed of progress along the way and felt they were driven by the desire to get me in good shape as soon as possible. They are professional and approachable and make you feel you are amongst friends. I whole heartedly recommend them to anyone of any age with any condition, donât be apprehensive give them a try youâll be glade you did. Keep up the good work we need you. P.S. My husband has requested I add a comment on his behalf. âThanks Chris for making it possible for me to still be playing regular veterans football at 60. Still doing the exercises every day. Cheers ïâ
Highly professional, confidence inspiring organisation who establish precisely what is wrong and what needs to be done to put it right. Great interpersonal skills in dealing with all clients from the minute you walk in the door and throughout the course of treatment. No hesitation in recommending anyone to see Chris and his team.
A very friendly service. Chris Boynes was my physio-he was actually recommended to me by a local GP-he is obviously an expert in his field, and gave me confidence from our first meeting. He listened to my perception of the problem, and after examining me provided a 'plan of action'! He was cheerful ,kind and supportive throughout- seeing me through surgery and out the other side!Nothing was too much trouble-liaising with others involved in my treatment, and he always returned my emails!I have already recommended family and friends to PhysioActive. Absolutely brilliant!
âAm I happy with Physioactive? You bet! Iâm a self employed mini rugby coach & canât afford time off work when I pull a muscle. Iâve tried others but Physioactive are the people I call. Their front of house are all courteous & diligent & their physios are all competent, professional & proactive. I am always made to feel the centre of attention. All physios are definitely not the same!â
