Tantric Jazz is a great little jazz venue in Bristol that offers fantastic live music and an excellent open mic night that really draws in the crowd. It’s a very lively bar in the evening and the food is good, but not great. I understand the food is locally sourced and extremely fresh, but from my own experience it was a little heavy on the garlic and also a bit on the exspensive side. Food aside though, this is a great place and one of the best jazz venues in Bristol, and certainly the next port of call when you’ve had your fill in the old duke.

Friendly, cozy, busy, great food, good drinks, fantastic music! This place really is a gem in the back streets of the centre. Walking in you will be confronted by a few tables, a bar some kitchen area and a small stage. Live jazz and skiffle is usually always blurting out from the quirky band that is playing, and there are wonderful smells from the food. It is mostly snak style food, but of great quality, the houmous and olive plates, the dips and other hearty nibbles are very tasty and of good value. The drinks are reasonably priced, and as the music is free it is well worth the visit. Be aware that it is quite small and so arrive early to avoid dissappointment!
