Bristol museum manages to achieve being an educational resource while still being a place the kids love to visit. While the dinosaurs are of most interest, they also spend time looking at the Egyptian section and finding out about Bristol's geographical history. With a wide range of stuffed animals, other curiosities, paintings and usually an exhibition, it's a great place to spend a few hours soaking up old and recent history.

With a couple of Banksys left there's a modern twist too.
