Great West Window - Images of Brighton & Hove
7th October 2012

This is the "Great West Window" within the church of Saint Paul's in West Street, Brighton, England. I was contacted several days ago by the church and asked if I'd photograph their windows for them. 2012 marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of the famous architect Augustus Pugin and Saint Paul's has probably the largest collection of Pugin designed stained glass windows in the country.

After some consideration (and trepidation) I said I'd be delighted to and that's what I did. This is a large montage that I have created for St Paul's. Several large HDR images were shot and then processed of this window.

I then painstakingly over several hours digitally stitched them all together and straightened things up as best I could to create the image you see before you.

Each figure was processed separately and dropped into its rightful place so that the faces and garments could be seen clearly.

I handed over all the completed files to the church yesterday so that they can now print their leaflets and put the images on large information boards etc.

On October 20th 2012 at 3pm Lady Wedgewood will be giving a talk all about Pugin and his contribution to architecture and in particular the stained glass of Saint Paul's, admission is free. I will be attending so if any of you are in the area and wish to come down please fell free and say hello.
