It’s delightful, delicious and great fun for the little ‘uns!...

The annual Children’s Parade starts off the Brighton Festival this Saturday, so get down town and give the kids a round of applause… they love it!

Here’s a selection of cool things to do in Brighton & Hove over the following week.

Friday 3rd May

  • Enjoy the May Funfair from today until 11th May at gorgeous Preston Park, with loads of scary rides and traditional funfair fun. Let’s hope the sun keeps shining!
  • Ladyboys of Bangkok – Head to Victoria gardens on Grand Parade for the annual Ladyboys cabaret. If you thought you looked good in your party frock, you’ve got nothing on these chaps. They are absolutely stunning and their show is an absolute joy.

Saturday 4th May

  • The annual Foodies Festival graces Hove lawns, on the seafront, from today until May 6th. Food fans adore this excellent event, which is fast becoming a Brighton and Hove classic.
  • Artists Open Houses – the mainstay of our annual festival, this year there are more than 1,000 artists exhibiting throughout the city and beyond, covering Rottingdean, Woodingdean, Patcham and all the ‘burbs as well as the city centre. Take your wallet with you and invest in something splendid for your home! Open every weekend in May.

Sunday 5th May

  • Marvel at the Historical Commercial Vehicle Run, ending at Madeira Drive on the seafront – Take a trip back in time as hundreds of beautiful old vehicles, from buses and coaches to lorries and vans, take to the streets in an unforgettable nostalgic parade.

Monday 6th May

  • When someone goes missing, the immediate effects are devastating. But then they stay missing, how do the people they leave behind cope? The Dome Studio Theatre hosts the Disappearances Project, 8pm, £12 a ticket, £10 stand-by.

Tuesday 7th May

  • Eddie Izzard struts his uniquely funny, wonderfully crazy and bizarre stuff at the Brighton Centre on his Force Majeure tour. Not to be missed! Call the box office on 0844 847 1515 for ticket prices
