During your first visit an assessment will be undertaken, looking to obtain information regarding lifestyle, medical history and current condition this is followed by a physical examination to determine the degree of loss of function and to identify other factors that may be responsible for the current symptoms. Notes are kept to record degrees of movement and / or pain levels and are updated after each visit to monitor progress.
Vicky offers the following services tailored to your specific individual needs:-
Deep Tissue Massage
Is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons. It increases blood flow and helps excrete toxins from painful, strained muscles.
Sports Massage / Sports Therapy
Sports massage increases blood circulation to muscles that are underused, relieving chronic muscle tension throughout the body. It can also break down 'knots' deep in the muscles, help tissue repair and ease pain. It is often used to treat injuries or ongoing problems in the muscles tendons and ligaments and the following conditions:-
Chronic back problems
Neck problems
Sports injuries
Tendinitis
Stress related tightness
Back Care
Occupational pain develops with stress and repeatedly spending extensive time at a computer, desk or in the car. This can lead to tightness and pain in the neck and shoulders, leading to headaches, migraines and postural imbalances in the spine.
Swedish Massage
Increases oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It can reduce stress and leave you feeling relaxed and invigorated.
Indian Head Massage
Is a very effective stress buster. The practice basically involves a series of rigorous movements that stimulate the chakras (centres of energy). Strokes are applied to the head, forehead, neck, arms, shoulders, and back. A good amount of oil is used and the areas are thoroughly massaged.
