Back 2 Balance based in Brighton and Hove provide the best advice and chiropractic care to help you achieve the best possible health.
Chiropractic is a drugless, non-surgical approach to health and wellbeing. The brain communicates to the rest of the body via the spinal cord and nerves. In a perfectly functioning person, this communication is uninterrupted, with the messages going to and from the brain without interference. Nerves are the "wiring" of the body, if there is blockage or interference in this wiring and the signals do not reach the body part, this can cause problems. At Back 2 Balance we check the spine for these blockages and then remove them.
What do Chiropractors do?
We use our hands to specifically adjust the joints of your spine and limbs where signs of restriction in movement are found, improving mobility and relieving pain. This treatment is known as 'adjustments' or 'manipulation'.

Low back pain
Chiropractic can help low back pain by restoring normal motion and relieving muscle spasm, nerve irritation and pain. Sitting at a desk all day or standing for long periods can affect the posture which in turn puts stress on the back.
Mid back pain
Commonly caused by prolonged periods of sitting or driving. Pain can due to joints being stretched for too long due to bad posture or if the joints have stiffened due to immobility. Chiropractic restores the proper movement of the associated spinal joints and we advise you on the best posture and exercises you can do to help.
Sciatica
Is a condition caused by inflammation of the sciatic nerve. Most sciatic pain is felt in the low back, although symptoms can be felt anywhere along the sciatic nerve like the buttock, leg or foot.. Chiropractic can help the cause of the sciatica by reducing the inflammation of the joint and nerve.
Neck pain
Often be caused by the long term effects of poor posture. We can help identify and treat stiffness in the joints of the neck, which will improve movement and relieve the pain.
Shoulder Pain
Shoulder and arm pain is often caused by neck problems. Sometimes nerves will be "trapped" as they exit the spine. Restoring proper movement and function in the joints of the neck can help relieve this problem.
Headaches and Migraines
Tension headaches can often be attributed to referred pain from the neck. If the neck has increased muscle tension because of joint dysfunction, this can lead to headaches. Poor posture can also be a trigger. Chiropractic has had much success with relieving migraine headaches. We aim to restore movement in the neck joints and release tension in the neck muscles.
Arm pain and trapped nerve
Chiropractic adjustments obtain good results for conditions like 'tennis elbow' and trapped nerves.
Whiplash
With whiplash chiropractic can help assist recovery by restoring normal joint movement allowing the injury to heal properly. We will often recommend stretching and strengthening exercises to get you back where you were before.
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
Often caused by overuse of computer keyboard or musical instrument and activities that require repeated movements. It affects muscles, tendons and nerves in the hands, arms and upper back. We offer advice on posture and ergonomics to help prevent or halt the progress of the disorder. Stretches and strengthening exercises will reduce neck and shoulder muscle tension and can help heal existing disorders. We also find that helping the neck for RSI will improve the healing in the arm faster.
