Digital switchover in Brighton and Hove starts on the 7th March 2012 and will be completed by 21st March 2012.
This is when all TV services in the Brighton and Hove area will go completely Digital. The UK’s old television broadcast signal known as analogue is being switched off and replaced with a digital signal. Any TV set that is not converted to digital when the switchover takes place will no longer receive TV programmes. You can easily convert your TV sets by adding a Freeview set top box to each TV or upgrade your televisions to a more modern Freeview integrated set. A digital aerial will then enable your set to receive the best signal and channels available.
7th March
BBC Two will go to digital and some new digital channels become available.
This will affect you :-
- If you haven’t switched you will not be able to receive BBC2
- If you have Freeview or BT Vision or Top Up TV you will need to re-tune your equipment
21st March
All the remaining analogue channels will switch to digital and the remaining digital channels will become available.
This will affect you :-
- If you haven’t switched to digital, you will lose your TV service completely
- If you have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV you’ll need to re-tune your equipment again
Please be aware of Bogus Callers knocking on your door offering to retune your televisions. These people will deliberately target the elderly and vulnerable who may have concerns about the switchover, and their intention will be to enter the property and steal money, handbags and other small items of value.
At Doddington Aerials and Satellites we can help and advise you about the digital switchover.
