This gem of a go kart track is based at Qleisure in Albourne, just 6 miles north of Brighton with easy access off the A23. Fully equipped with a fly-over, hair pin, S bends and a long straight where you can hit full speed on the karts. Enough twists and turns to challenge the absolute beginner through to the more confident driver and a viewing platform that sits above the track so you won’t miss a single piece of racing action.
The Brighton track hosts a fleet of Biz Racing Karts that are capable of hitting high speeds of 45 mph and the track can cater for small or large groups and individuals on special ‘open’ sessions.
The kart track is linked up with a computerised Tag Heur timing system that will show you your race position, speed, fastest lap time and total points scored, so you can keep a close tab on your progress. You will feel like the next Lewis Hamilton in no time.
A choice of race formats are available, endurance races with timed qualifying and the very popular grand prix’s which include race heats, semi finals and the grand final. Finish in the top 3 and walk away with a trophy and a great big smile on your face after standing on the podium above the other 47 drivers that you just beat.
All race packages include the race essentials, a safety crash helmet, gloves and race overalls. Find the closest marshall; get some sneaky tips on how to drive the track and then race until you pass the finish line with the chequered flag flashing in the corner of your eye.
The atmosphere on weekends is buzzing, being so close to Brighton it’s a haven for Stag and Hen parties out to have a fun day, mix that up with a handful of local enthusiasts, birthday parties, groups of friends and you are surrounded in a comforting, laid back but still competitive environment.
Also you never know who you might end up racing against; earlier this year rock band McFly put their skills on the kart track as part of their promotion for their Brighton gig on the seafront. Norman Cook more famously known as Fat Boy Slim was involved in a team event to raise money for the Brighton and Hove football club charity and on occasions we also have the ‘Son of the Stigg’ to race against.
The whole site is very well run and has all the necessary facilities to make your day comfortable and enjoyable. A fully licensed bar is on site so you can wind down after your frenetic race with a drink and food is available at the restaurant to keep your energy up.
