Brian Rice's exhibition features ten large canvases and a group of studies from these and other works. The large paintings are part of the Halla series, which use the same motif with variations in its size, colour and texture.
The Halla motif originated from the simple plan of a house or hall, the square being its walls, the protrusions rafters and the shapes within post-holes.
Brian's work is held in numerous collections in Great Britain and abroad, including the Tate Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
