The Bull's Head is a lovely, family owned 18th century Country Inn just outside Bridgnorth featuring a quality traditional restaurant, well appointed accommodation and set in a quiet, picturesque location in the heart of Shropshire.

Owned and run by resident proprietors John and Norma King and their son Richard, The Bull's Head at Chelmarsh, just outside Bridgnorth offers everything you'd want from a traditional, country Inn. A quality restaurant offering a variety of freshly cooked food, high quality accommodation, traditional beers and Real Ale and live entertainment have made this Inn one of Shropshire's favourites.

John, Norma, Richard and the team at The Bull's Head Inn are understandably proud of the reputation they have built for delivering consistently high quality products and services for their visitors. Their aim is to create a venue that they would want to use themselves - one with a great atmosphere, quality food and drink, comfortable accommodation and fantastic customer service. The fact that locals and visitors return time and again to experience everything The Bull's Head has to offer is testament to their success in achieving this.

Proud of the fact that the same team of staff have been working there for over 6 years, John and Norma offer this guarantee to all their customers - "Whatever your reason for visiting Shropshire, every member of the team at The Bull's Head will endeavour to make your visit as enjoyable, relaxing and memorable as possible". They go out of their way to cater for individual needs and are always prepared to go 'the extra mile' for their customers.

The Inn

Boasting many original features, the comfortable bar area serves a range of traditional beers and real ale throughout the day all year round. Enjoy the warm, friendly atmosphere; occasional live music and the traditional Bar Menu available from 12 noon until 6pm Monday to Saturday. It's a lovely place to spend a few hours relaxing and socialising, and when the weather permits, you can take a drink or snack in the pretty gardens.

The Restaurant

Head Chef Barret Handley originally trained at the London Hilton in Park Lane and has worked in many leading restaurants and hotels; and together with Chefs Claire Francis and Tara Parton-Gretton, prepares a mouth-watering combination of traditional favourites and creative international cuisine. Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible - meat from Keith Alderson in Bridgnorth; vegetables from Grinnalls of Stourport; dairy from Mawley Town Farm; fresh fish from M.J.Willis and free-range eggs from Dave Kelley (who is two doors away!).

The elegant Conservatory Restaurant comfortably accommodates up to 50 diners and is a perfect venue for private parties and functions. The freshly cooked food is served from 12 noon until 9.00pm Monday to Saturday - a 'Daytime' menu up to 6pm and an 'Evening' menu from 6pm to 9.00pm. Sunday is all about Traditional Roasts and 'chefs specials' - available from noon until 5pm. As you would expect there is a carefully selected and extensive wine list to provide the perfect accompaniment to your choice of food.

The Accommodation

Self Catering Accommodation is offered through seven unique cottages and apartments within the grounds. All are equipped to a high standard with bed lined and towels included. The self-catering accommodation is let on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday) from July to September, and a minimum of three nights in other periods. With ample free parking and the Inn and Restaurant just a short walk away, you can combine the benefits of self catering with a meal or drink at the Inn if you prefer. Pets are also welcome. The Inn Accommodation consists of several well appointed rooms with en-suite facilities. Disabled guests are welcomed at both the self-catering and Inn accommodation.

Due to it's enviable location, The Bull's Head is popular with Walkers & Cyclists, Golfers and for Fishing. Set in rural Shropshire, the village of Chelmarsh is ideally placed for access to Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock. Local attractions include RAF Cosford Museum, West Midlands Safari Park and the Severn Valley Steam Railway - and of course, the delighful Shropshire countryside which is right on your doorstep.
