Shropshire’s latest theatrical venue is about to make its debut performance this weekend, as the Museum of the Gorge in Ironbridge stages its first production.
Inspector Drake and the Black Widow is a play by Shropshire author, David Tristram, and is to be performed by the Sundial Theatre Group at the beautiful riverside setting, which is right at the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site.
The black comedy details the death of oil tycoon John Johnson, and the subsequent investigation by super sleuth Drake.
With a talented cast, including Keith Minshull, who has an eminent stage career spanning more than three decades, and Gill Jordan, who formed Sundial Theatre, in 1996, the play looks like a worthy choice for the inaugural production at the new venue.
The production gets under way on Friday (August 13) at 7.30pm, with a further staging on Saturday evening, and then each Saturday until September 11.
