Once upon a Playtime is an indoor play area with a difference. Staffed by fully qualified teachers and childcare professionals who understand the importance of meaningful play.
Award winning Special Needs teacher Sarah Mawer understands how important it is for children to learn through play so she has created a safe and stimulating environment indoor play area, Once Upon a Playtime.
As Sarah says; "If children enjoy where they are, love what they are doing and have fun with what they experience - then learning will occur!"
Learning is fun at Once Upon a Time. Our Bridgend play area provides endless opportunities for creative and active play with quiet areas for relaxation too. We offer activities for children up to twelve years of age; from soft play for the very young to play frames, ball pools, car tracks, sports court and creative tables for the older children whose motor skills are more developed.
As our name suggests, Once Upon a Playtime in Bridgend is themed around a love of story telling. Our emphasis on role play, turn taking, group games and confidence building activities create many opportunities for imaginative and social play. Our centre is staffed by fully qualified play leaders who go out of their way to create excitement through collaborative activities.
We have tried to create an environment where adults can socialise too in the knowledge that their children are well looked after.
Garden themed soft play area: soft slide, roundabout, climbing blocks, see-saw etc
Toddlers Frame; 2 tiered climbing frame, twisty slide, ramps, steps , rope ladders and a large open ball pool
Car Track; road way themed track perfect for ride on cars, trikes and bikes
Main Frame; huge 3 tiered play frame, inspired by favourite story book settings.
Sports Area; Astro Turf-like area allows for games like mini football, basketball and hockey.
Creative Tables; daily activities including dressing up, painting, art & craft, Play-Doh, small world toys, construction etc.
Snacktime Café.
Re-fuelling hungry children (and adults) is child's play at Once Upon a Playtime. Our café offers a wide selection of sandwiches, panninis, jacket potatoes and hot meals. Sweet treats are on offer too with our tempting cakes and cookies.
We provide facilities for re-heating baby food and milk.
