ABOUT ME

I am Susan Curtin, a qualified Podiatrist (a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine). I not only treat routine foot problems such as corns, cracked heels, etc, I am trained to diagnose and treat abnormalities of the foot and ankle ie, diabetic ulcers, nail avulsion, biomechanical examinations, etc.

I have studied Pharmacology which is the study of how drugs, as chemical agents, affect body functions in health and disease, I can prescribe a variety of medications including local anaesthetic. I am also qualified to provide professional advice on the prevention of foot problems and on proper foot care. I work with GPs and Consultants, and also provide podiatric care in hospital environments and clinics as well as home care.

I see patients of all ages from the very young to the elderly.

Qualifications/Memberships

• Batchelor of Science Degree with Honours in Podiatric Medicine

• Registered with the Health Professions Council

• A member of The Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists

• I am qualified to diagnose and treat abnormalities of the foot and ankle

• I give professional advice on the prevention of foot problems and on proper foot care

• I am qualified to treat high risk feet ie, people with diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, neurological disorders

• Biomechanical Examinations diagnosing irregularities of the legs, feet and method of walking, making of orthoses (a splint or an arch support), etc

• Neurological disorders ie, Friedrich's Ataxia, Myasthenia Gravis, the Immunocompromised etc

• Nail avulsion

• Wound care (diabetic ulcers, etc)

• Routine foot care, ie nail care, hard skin, cracked heels, corns/callus, verrucae
