5th Nov 2010 - Fire Services Set to Strike on the day of Guy Fawkes & Diwali Fireworks celebration

Police, fire and ambulance services around the country should be bracing themselves for a busy night on the 5th November as people celebrate Guy Fawkes And Diwali - or Deepavali, festival of lights.

 
The Fire Service is set in taking industrial action and hence I am encouraging people to attend professional displays and requesting all to be cautious if they are letting off fireworks at home.

Updating the ariticle...

After writing the above yesterday, this morning, the 5th November, thankfully the Fire Service has now changed its mind and is not taking industrial action today.  Nevertheless be cautious when letting of fireworks at home.
