I am delighted to inform you of the Prince's Trust Get Started with Music programme run in partnership with Inspired Neighbourhoods CIC.
Get Started with Music aims to:
Increase participants confidence and motivation and equip them with transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership
Re-engage young people with learning, specifically covering:
Music production
DJ-ing skills
Lyric writing
Learn how to operate multimedia technology and spend time in a music studio
Offer opportunities for sustained engagement in positive activities after the programme
Get Started participants are likely to be young people facing the most barriers: unemployed, low levels of literacy or numeracy, care-leavers, offenders and young people with few or no qualifications, aged 16 – 25 living in Bradford or West Yorkshire
The 5 day programme is an opportunity for young people to build on their confidence, motivation, and teamwork whilst covering a wide variety of music and multimedia skills (as above). Travel expenses and lunch will be provided for each day of the programme.
Please note that previous experience of working with music or multimedia is not a requirement for this programme. Lunch will be provided and travel cost will be reimbursed.
After the programme, the young people will receive up to 3 months support to help them get to where they want to be, either through further training, education or employment.
